McDonald’s is making its anime counterpart WcDonald’s real

In the world of anime, WcDonald’s (a restaurant inspired by the McDonald’s seen in animated shows and movies) exists and is about to become a reality.

Starting February 26th, in more than 30 markets around the world, in collaboration with some of the biggest names in the anime industry, Wakudonald will transform from fiction to reality.

McDonald’s brings the world of WcDonald’s to life with new sauces, WcNuggets, manga-inspired packaging, episodic short stories, and more.

WcDonald’s was born from the way animators and illustrators had their characters eat at the instantly recognizable McDonald’s. However, they did so by replacing the M with a W to avoid being sued or having to license the actual name.
