Massive cell phone outages across the United States have left thousands of people without cell phone service.

Mobile provider AT&T had the highest number of issues, with nearly 32,000 reports as of 4:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the data. down detector, Track outages by collating status reports from various sources that track errors submitted by users.
Other service providers, including T-Mobile and Verizon, also reported more than 800 outages.
Additionally, smaller carriers such as Boost Mobile, Consumer Cellular, and Straight Talk Wireless are also reporting more issues.
The issue spanned multiple major cities, including New York, Boston, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Seattle, and San Francisco.
Multiple police departments across the country have warned people they may not be able to call to report emergencies due to cellphone outages.
However, multiple AT&T users claimed they were stuck in “SOS mode” where they could only contact emergency services.
An AT&T spokesperson said the company is “working quickly to restore service.”
“We recommend using Wi-Fi calling until service is restored,” she said.
For Verizon and T-Mobile, spokespeople said their networks were operating normally.
Additionally, the companies argued that the problem only occurs when customers try to call or text customers who use AT&T.
A Verizon spokesperson said that a Verizon customer was “experiencing issues this morning while calling or texting a customer served by another carrier.”
“We continue to monitor the situation,” a Verizon spokesperson said in a statement.
