Barnes, who played for the Kings from 2004-2005 and 2016-2017, has been appearing on pre- and post-game broadcasts for the Sacramento Kings since 2021.
A spokesperson for the department did not say why he and Burns, 43, parted ways, and Burns has not yet addressed the situation publicly.
