Haley says Biden ‘more dangerous’ than Trump

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley said in an interview published Thursday that she believes President Biden is “more dangerous” than former President Trump.

However, she has made it clear that she doesn’t think either Trump or Biden should be the next president.

“I have a lot of concerns about Mr. Trump coming back to the presidency. I have even more concerns about Joe Biden becoming president. I mean, if you look at these two people, , all they’ve done is give us chaos. All they’ve done is give us division,” Haley said. , told NPR’s Steve Inskeep when asked if he thought it would be a “disaster for this country.”

Inkeep asked Haley if saying she had “additional concerns” about Biden meant that the two remaining choices in the November 2024 presidential election were to support Trump over Biden. Ta.

“I think Biden is more dangerous,” Haley responded.

“We’ve seen the facts that his policies are bad,” she said, pointing to illegal immigration, “corporate welfare,” and “he’s more committed to socialism than any president we’ve seen in history.” ” was cited as an important issue. Biden.

Haley also criticized Biden’s “mental capacity” and said it has “decreased to a level that we should all be concerned about.”

“A number of things indicate that he is not in a good mental state to continue coaching, and that is the problem,” she said.

Hill called on the Biden campaign to respond.

When Inskeep pointed out that she had also expressed concerns about Trump’s mental competency, Haley said, “I have issues with both.”

“If you compare Donald Trump today to Donald Trump in 2016, they’re different. And we need to focus on what the new generation wants and what we need to do going forward. I think we have to,” Haley said. “And we don’t have two candidates who are 80 years old. I think that’s a problem.”

Haley, Trump’s last Republican primary challenger, has made age a key focus of her campaign, calling in the early stages of her campaign for term limits and mental competency testing for politicians over 75. Ta. In her recent campaign, Ms. Haley has wielded the age debate as a way to counter both Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden.

Haley’s interview, recorded Wednesday, took place just days before the South Carolina Republican primary, in which Trump has a 30.7 point lead in the Hill/Decision Desk polling average. The approval rating is 63.8%, and the support rate is 33.1%.
