KFC will introduce a limited-time entrée to its American menu on Monday that combines two popular dishes: pizza and fried chicken.
The so-called “Chizza” consists of two fried chicken fillets “topped with spicy marinara sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and crunchy pepperoni,” and Yum! This was announced by the fried chicken chain under the brand.
Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) announced that it will host a pop-up “Cizzeria” to hand out free samples of Chizza on Friday and Saturday afternoons at its 242 E 14th Street restaurant in New York City to promote future Chizza menu appearances. .
The fast food chain described Chizza as an “international blockbuster” that has been previously served at KFC restaurants in the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Germany, Spain and Mexico.
The Philippines first introduced it in 2015.
Participating KFCs in the U.S. are selling chizzas, but customers can choose to have them on their own or in combos with fries and a medium drink, according to KFC.
The chain said the chizza is reminiscent of the “double down” sandwich, which uses two chicken fillets as a bun and includes cheese, bacon and sauce, and most recently appeared on U.S. menus briefly last year. That’s what it means.
That rollout comes just weeks after Yum! Brand CEO David Gibbs said the company planned a range of exciting initiatives in the first quarter, including the Smashed Potato Bowl, its first bowl innovation since 2019, and the rollout of KFC’s first loyalty rewards program. “I am doing so,” he said.
The company operates thousands of KFC stores in the United States and 87% of all KFC restaurants in other countries.

KFC brought in about 40% of Yum!’s total revenue of $7.076 billion. A brand born in 2023.
Other brands include Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Habit Burger Grill.
