KFC is poised to roll out its first fried chicken and pizza combo in the US, dubbed Chizza.
Instead of a doughy crust like traditional pizza, Chizza features a base layer of fried chicken topped with sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. “This isn’t pizza, it’s chizza. Two 100% white meat Extra Crispy™ fried chicken fillets topped with tangy marinara sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and crunchy pepperoni.” press release He explained.
The concoction will be available for a limited time in the U.S. starting February 26, but you’ll be able to try it for free even sooner in New York City.
“To celebrate our U.S. debut, KFC will transform our restaurant at 242 E 14th St. in New York City, the pizza capital of the United States, into a unique ‘Chizzeria’ pop-up where customers can stop by. Be the first to try Chizza for free,” the press release states. “KFC Cizzeria offers just one menu: Hot & Fresh Chizza, a modern KFC take on the classic pizzeria.The world’s first Cizzeria will be open from (possibly) Friday 23rd February until 23rd February. We’ll be open for a limited time on .24 (1pm to 9pm ET), but don’t worry, Chizza will be available nationwide starting Monday, February 26th.”
“Chizza first appeared on the KFC menu in the Philippines in 2015, and since then, the KFC exclusive menu has spread all over the world, including South Korea, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Germany, Spain, Mexico, and now here in the United States. “For the first time, a global phenomenon has occurred,” the press release said.
