Several trophies won by Adrian Peterson during his illustrious career were put up for auction, but apparently without his permission.

The Minnesota Vikings legend hired a company called Texmax Auctions to organize his storage, but put the items up for sale “despite explicit instructions to leave all personal items untouched.” he said.

Despite having been guaranteed more than $50 million during his career, Peterson was rumored to be bankrupt due to the auctioned items. Peterson’s Instagram post cleared the air on the speculation.

“I would like to clarify recent rumors and media reports that a real estate sales company has sold some of my trophies without my permission, despite clear instructions to leave my belongings untouched. We included it,” Peterson said. “I will be taking legal action because I did not authorize the sale of my trophies. It was my mistake to trust this company without supervision. I, under clear instructions, We allowed them to come into some of our storage units. They clearly did something that was illegal.

“I would like to stress that I am financially stable and have no intention of selling off my hard-earned trophies. And if I am going to sell them, I have the people who will sell them to me. I know, I don’t want to go online and sell personal stuff because there are ‘items,’ so let’s figure it out. ”

Mr. Peterson also criticized members of the media, saying “many” of them had his phone number.

“But that’s the reality. I just wanted to address this and say it in my own words because people have been texting me for the past hour. It’s okay. I’m upstairs. I’m going to go up there and continue praising God. I’m not going to let the devil win. God bless you.”

Peterson is one of only six players to reach 2,000 yards in a season, and was just eight yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson’s record of 2,105 yards.

He was the No. 7 pick out of Oklahoma State in the 2007 NFL Draft, a four-time first-team All-Pro selection, and a seven-time Pro Bowler. He led the NFL in rushing yards and touchdowns in 2015 after returning from a torn ACL. This was the third and last time he had the most rushing yards in a single season.
