The complex contained a total of 138 one- to three-bedroom apartments in two 10- and 14-story buildings connected by an elevator.

A Spanish government spokesperson said the prime minister said: Pedro Sanchezwill visit Valencia today to “learn first-hand the details of the tragic fire that affected two buildings in the Campanar district.”
The prime minister is scheduled to visit the region at 11:45 a.m. local time with local officials and address the press afterwards.

Esther PancaidesAccording to Reuters, officials from the insurance inspection agency APCAS told state broadcaster TVE that the lack of fire walls and the use of plastic material polyurethane on the facade of the building where the fire broke out contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. He said it may have contributed.

Between 9 and 15 people missing in Spanish wildfires
