Brandon Novak, the Pro Bowler from Ohio who was arrested midway through a tournament earlier this month, has been charged with 15 felony counts of child pornography, according to online records.
Novak, 35, of Chillicothe, Ohio, was charged with 10 counts of unlawful use of a minor in a work or performance featuring nudity and 5 counts of pandering to sexually oriented matters involving minors. He is charged with a felony.

Unlawful use of a minor in a nudity-oriented work or performance is a fifth-degree felony, and pandering to sexual orientation matters involving minors is a fourth-degree felony.
Novak’s next hearing is scheduled for March 21st.

He was taken into custody at the 2024 U.S. Open Bowling Tournament in Indianapolis on February 1st. Authorities announced at the time that he was wanted on a warrant based on a secret indictment.
Chillicothe police had been investigating Novak since February 2023, according to a report obtained by the Columbus Dispatch through an Ohio Public Records Act request.

Detectives with the department said they received a complaint from Facebook that Novak’s account was allegedly associated with child sexual abuse material.
According to reports, authorities executed a search warrant at Novak’s residence and questioned him. During the interview, Novak said he purchased pornography from someone on Snapchat, but said he did not initially know the video contained child sexual abuse material.
He later admitted that he knew he was purchasing material related to child sexual abuse and took steps to cover it up, authorities said.
