Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have revealed new information about what led them to call off their 2003 wedding.
Her new documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, released on Amazon Prime, tells how the couple “crumpled under the pressure” of the public eye.
“Ben and I broke up three days before the wedding,” Lopez says in the documentary. “We had planned a big wedding – we had 14 ushers and bridesmaids, but three days beforehand I collapsed under the pressure.”
Affleck added in a separate interview, “When Jen and I previously broke up, what led to that was a huge amount of scrutiny of our private lives.”

The couple met on the set of the film Gili in 2002, got engaged, and were scheduled to marry in 2003, but they ended up postponing their wedding and ultimately broke up in January 2004.
Lopez reveals that the years following their breakup were difficult.
“Not only do I feel like I’ve lost the love of my life, I feel like I’ve lost the best friend I’ve ever had. And we haven’t been able to talk for years and that’s been the hardest part,” she said. Ta. She is, she says.
She is married to singer Marc Anthony and has two children with him, twins Max and Emme. The two divorced in 2014. She then dated former New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez and reunited with Affleck in 2021.

Affleck married Jennifer Garner in 2005 and they have three children. Violet, Seraphina, Samuel. The two divorced in 2019, and before rekindling their romance, Lopez dated SNL producer Lindsay Shookus and actress Ana de Armas.
The couple had a surprise wedding in Las Vegas in 2022, followed shortly after by a lavish traditional ceremony at Affleck’s home in Georgia.
Lopez reflected on her romantic life in her new album, “This is Me… Now,” and accompanying musical film, “This is Me… Now: A Love Story.”
The documentary follows the making of the film, with Affleck stating that the event that begins the film is their breakup, which is depicted as a dramatic motorcycle accident at the beginning.

Affleck, who played the role of an interviewer at one point in the documentary, said: “When I first read the script, it seemed like our breakup was going to be the trigger for all the pain that was going to happen. I felt like I wasn’t doing anything.” It was wrong, it was mutual, and I think for us to move on from that, we need to forget about it and forgive each other. will you forgive me? ”
Lopez didn’t answer, but smiled slightly and shook his head a little.
Later she says: “That heartbreak set us both on a path to introspection and becoming better people.”
In a recent interview with Variety magazine, Lopez added, “Our relationship fell apart under the weight of the pressure. We lost our sense of ourselves, didn’t know how to live, and had to break up. I needed to understand myself.” And he needed to understand himself. ”

In the documentary, Affleck said, “I had very firm boundaries with the press in the beginning, but I don’t think Jen was as opposed to it as I was. I was very opposed to it.
