Comedian Shane Gillis has made a triumphant return to “Saturday Night Live,” marking a triumph for the comedian who was once fired from the iconic sketch comedy show.
Gillis, who was fired from SNL in 2019, returned to live comedy and pushed the envelope with politically incorrect monologues that seem unusable these days without a public apology.
The stand-up comedian began the night by imploring viewers and listeners not to look into why he was fired from the network show.
“Most people probably don’t know who I am. I was fired from this show a while ago. But…please don’t find out. Please, don’t tell me who I am. “If you don’t know, don’t Google it. It’s okay. You don’t even have to worry about it,” he joked.
But it wasn’t long before Gillis was pushing the same boundaries that got him fired. Reflecting on his family, Gillis joked that the little boy was often his mother’s best friend when he was young.
“Do you remember? Remember when you were little and you loved your mom and thought she was the coolest thing? Remember when you were gay? You were a gay boy. Do you remember when you were there?”
Gillis also joked about how many people in her family have Down syndrome. He then used the word “retarded” to joke that it would be a great moment for the country if three black children protected his young niece (who has Down syndrome) from being insulted by white children. Said.
“I wish I could say those words on TV,” Gillis continued. “It’s really bright out here and I can tell you guys aren’t having fun,” he added after an awkward moment. Gillis’ joke was actually very well received, with the exception of some of the SNL band members during the monologue.
The Pennsylvania native has enjoyed success since SNL fired him just four days after he was hired for an alleged racist joke. Gillis ruffled his feathers by making fun of Chinese food and imitating a Chinese accent on his podcast.
Since then, he’s produced hugely popular sketches on his YouTube channel, appeared on various top-performing podcasts (including Joe Rogan’s), and even partnership agreement Along with Bud Light.
Other sketches from Gillis’ return to SNL featured a commercial for an insurance agent with a gun ostrichas well as his super popular performance. Avatar Donald Trump.
The sketch featured Gillis in a fake movie trailer that poked fun at President Trump’s recently released luxury sneakers. After Gillis shows poor performance in basketball, he puts on sneakers and begins to embody the former president. However, sneakers do not improve his basketball skills. Rather, they improve their ability to make people believe what they say.
With “Saturday Night Live” and NBC’s acquiescence to Gillis’ comedic style, woke entertainment is once again under pressure from viewers who want to decide what’s fit for consumption.
Some news outlets called his joke “huge mistake”, or bombedcries of comedic prejudice It has become less popular and is easily ignored. In fact, it is clear that those who say the unspoken words and engage in forbidden conversations are more successful.
