The illegal alien charged with the kidnapping and murder of 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley entered the United States thanks to President Joe Biden’s parole pipeline on the porous southern border.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials later confirmed that Antonio Ybarra was the first illegal alien to arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border near El Paso, Texas, in September 2022. Rather than being detained or immediately released, he was released into the interior of the United States through Biden’s parole pipeline.

Biden’s parole pipeline is part of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ extensive catch-and-release network at the border, where thousands of illegal aliens are apprehended every day. and are immediately released into American towns and cities with the expectation of turning themselves in. Immigration hearings will likely be years away.

DHS officials have privately suggested that about 5,000 illegal aliens are being released into the U.S. interior each day under Mr. Biden and Mr. Mayorkas. Border Patrol agents say the DHS secretary privately acknowledged that about 85 percent of all illegal aliens arriving at the border are being released into American towns and cities.

Even after Antonio Ybarra was released into the interior of the United States, ICE officials said he was arrested in New York City in August 2023 and charged with injury to a child under 17 and a motor vehicle violation. admitted that.

The city’s sanctuary policy and New York state’s sanctuary law ensured that Antonio Ybarra was released from prison before ICE agents could claim him. If he had been turned over to ICE agents, it is almost certain that he would not have been in Athens several months later.

As Breitbart News reported, Antonio Ibarra’s brother, Diego Jose Ibarra, 29, an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela, also crossed the border and was living in Athens at the time of Riley’s murder. He briefly secured a dishwashing job at the University of Georgia using a fake green card.

In September 2023, Diego Ibarra was arrested in Athens for drunk driving and driving without a license. He was arrested again in Athens in October 2023 for shoplifting, and then again in December 2023 for failing to appear in court.

NewsNation’s Ali Bradley report Diego Ibarra first crossed the border near Eagle Pass, Texas, on April 3, 2023, but returned to Mexico shortly thereafter. He then allegedly crossed the border near El Paso on April 30, 2023, and was involved in an assault on a Border Patrol agent.

According to Bradley’s report, he was not prosecuted because he claimed to have epilepsy. Another Venezuelan illegal alien who arrived at the border with him was also charged with serious assault and is being held in a federal prison in Texas.

Upon arrival, Diego Ibarra was turned over to ICE agents, granted parole from federal custody, and ultimately sent to Athens.

On Feb. 22, Riley went for a morning jog along the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens, where she transferred in 2023. When Riley did not return, his roommate called the police, who began searching for him.

Riley graduated from the University of Georgia and entered nursing school at Augusta University’s Athens campus. Riley has been an avid runner since running cross country in high school in Woodstock, Georgia.

Her body was found in a wooded area near Herrick Lake just hours after Riley left for her morning run. Police said Riley’s body had visible injuries to her. The next day, police arrested Antonio Ibarra.

Antonio Ybarra, like his brother, remains in the Clark County Jail. Antonio Ybarra is charged with kidnapping, murder, aggravated assault, aggravated assault, interfering with a 911 call, and concealing the death of a person.
