In his first criticism, López Obrador exposed Natalie Kitroev’s personal cell phone. times, He sent an email to the President’s Press Office with several questions.

The initial data breach sparked international criticism from press freedom groups, as Mexico is considered one of the most dangerous countries for journalists.

When asked about his personal information records by a Univision reporter, López Obrador said it was done intentionally. After being told that revealing personal information was against the law in Mexico, the president braced himself and insisted that he had the right to protect himself from smear attacks from critical media outlets.
Shortly after, one of López Obrador’s sons posted on social media that his phone number had been leaked and that he was receiving threats.

Presidential candidate Claudia Sheinbaum, a supporter of López Obrador, also posted over the weekend that she too had her personal information stolen and received threats on her personal cell phone.
