When the two rekindled their romance in 2021, Ben Affleck had one request for Jennifer Lopez: more privacy.
Lopez, an actor-turned-director, opened up about the couple’s relationship in a new Amazon Prime documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”
“I went back and said, ‘Listen, one thing I don’t want is a relationship on social media,'” Affleck said in the film.
“Then I kind of realized that it wasn’t fair to ask this question. It’s like saying, ‘Well, I hate water,’ when you’re going to marry the captain.”
After the two reconciled after decades apart, Lopez shared several photos with her lover on social media.
“We’re just two people with different kinds of approaches trying to learn to compromise,” the “Air” director added.
Lopez revealed that her husband was uncomfortable living in the spotlight, which she said was the inspiration for her ninth studio album, This Is Me…Now, released earlier this month. He said it happened.
“I do not think so [Ben] I’m very happy that I do all this,” she said in the documentary.
“But he loves me and he knows I’m an artist and he knows you can’t stop me from making the music that I make, so he supports me in every way.” He will support me… He doesn’t want to stop me. But that doesn’t mean he’s happy to be the muse.”
Lopez recently revealed that she had “absolutely no intention” of getting back together with Affleck after their engagement broke down in 2004.
Appeared on Australian TV show “Kyle and Jackie O’s Radio Show”the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer said she had to “understand myself” after the two broke up in the early 2000s.
“I fell in love with the love of my life” [earlier in life] And for some reason we needed to grow up and do other things,” she explained.
“We both broke up and had kids with other people and other relationships, but in our hearts we were like, ‘Oh, that was kind of the thing.'”

Lopez, 54, and Affleck, 51, began dating in 2002 and got engaged later that year. However, the two broke up in 2004 after postponing their wedding the previous year.
The ‘On the Floor’ hitmaker married Marc Anthony in 2004 and had 16-year-old twins Max and Emme before they split in 2014.
Affleck was married to Jennifer Garner from 2008 to 2018, and they share two children, Violet, 18, and Seraphina, 15.
After years apart, Lopez and Affleck finally reunited in 2021 and married in 2022.
