Biden Wins Democrat Primary in Michigan amid Challenge of Uncommitted Democrats

President Joe Biden won Michigan’s Democratic primary despite a coalition of Arab American voters vowing to punish the Democratic president for his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The Associated Press called President Biden’s campaign on Tuesday evening:

Biden won the primary, but given the number of uncommitted voters who are essentially voting against Democratic incumbents, it shows what could be a big problem down the road. As of 9:15 p.m. ET, turnout was 14%, with uncommitted voters voting. totaled More than 20,000 votes were cast, representing 15.8 percent of the total votes cast. However, these numbers will continue to fluctuate as vote counting progresses.

As a result of Biden’s handling of the divisiveness, Democratic Muslim voters in Michigan were set to vote “no-commitment” in the primary. But even some concerned Democrats, like Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.), urged him not to withhold support for Biden or cast an undecided vote.

“I share some of the concerns that the community has raised, and I intend to be transparent about them,” he said, adding, “abstaining the option will not move us forward and will not solve these problems. ” he added.

The movement, the #AbandonBiden campaign, appears to have started in December over Biden’s rejection of calls for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.

Breitbart News reported at the time:

At a news conference in Michigan, about a dozen leaders from the battleground states of Michigan, Minnesota, Arizona, Wisconsin, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania praised the Muslim-Americans who contributed to his victory. I vowed not to vote for him, saying he had given up on me. In 2020.

“Muslim Americans have finally come together to state in absolutely clear terms that the Biden administration’s position…is a red line that should not be crossed for all Muslim Americans,” said #AbandonBiden National Coalition leader and university said Hassan Abdel Salam, assistant professor of sociology. University of Minnesota.

Michigan community leader Khalid Tourani vowed to make Biden a one-term president “because of his stance on the genocide in Gaza.”

“And we are convinced of it. We are now going to punish him by making them a one-term president by announcing that we are abandoning Biden,” Thulani said.

“We will come together to expand the coalition of those who are abandoning Joe Biden because of his stance on the genocide in Gaza,” Thulani added.

Earlier this month, former New Orleans mayor and current Biden campaign co-chairman Mitch Landrieu sought to fight the #AbandonBiden campaign, saying Biden is trying to protect American interests and is focused on freeing hostages. I told voters that I was there.

Democratic strategist James Carville is one of them. warned He said an unconditional protest vote against Biden would be a “huge problem” for the 81-year-old.
