We knew Hollywood would buy any dog food we put in front of them, and that was true. Because there was no other choice. So the dog food got even worse. Hollywood also became complacent. Networks that were once enjoyed around the world, like MTV, Comedy Central, and CNN, suddenly became openly hostile and hateful to half the country. What can we do if we are hated? There was nowhere else to go.
With the advent of cable television, Hollywood no longer had to operate on merit because it made money no matter what.
Then streaming emerged as an alternative, but everything is falling apart. We will no longer fund media outlets that hate us or produce poor content. Churn (cancellations) is devastating these streaming outlets because they don’t have enough decent content to sustain us month after month.
I’ll tell you what’s really going on…What I discovered is what millions of other people have discovered. That means there’s no reason to pay for a streaming service.
