It’s no secret that Stephen A. Smith has had a feud with Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans, but now that feud has taken it to a new level.
Even though Williamson was playing well, Smith took aim at Williamson’s weight.
The Pelicans responded with trolls on social media, posting video highlights of Smith’s less-than-impressive performances and athletic failures during his time at Winston-Salem State University.
Smith then responded with a 10-minute rant in which he refused to answer questions about his college basketball career and claimed he didn’t care.
“I need to learn a little bit more about Stephen A. Smith,” Smith said on the podcast. “Let me educate you. First of all, I don’t give anything away. I don’t care if you troll me.”
Smith sobbed afterwards, explaining that he still suffers from a cracked knee, which is why his stats were so bad.
“I’m not lying,” he explained.
Jason Whitlock doesn’t buy that.
“I’m lying,” Whitlock laughs.
“The only thing he won’t say now is, ‘I’ve got a six-inch screw in my knee.'” He knows how ridiculous and stupid that is, so he’s stopped doing it completely. ” explains Whitlock.
Another thing he doesn’t mention is that it is one of the “smokiest guns” according to Whitlock.
Smith claims he remained with the team on scholarship despite sustaining a serious injury as a practice squad that left him unable to walk up and down the court without limping more than three times.
“If you played track and field in college at any level,” Whitlock said, asking whether someone who can only get up and down the court a few times can still keep their scholarship.
“These are the questions Stephen A. Myss has to answer,” Whitlock says.
