A Florida couple was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping an infant from a Washington state city, with one of the suspects posing as an Amazon delivery driver in a sophisticated ruse, according to court documents obtained by FOX 13.
King County prosecutors charged Marley Jarina Aldila Urrego, 33, and Trung Ho Vincent Lai, 42, with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree robbery, second-degree assault of a child, He was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault. Court documents describe the ordeal as the couple placed the baby in an Amazon box and forced the mother into a bedroom with her 2-year-old child. Once the couple took off, the victim was able to loosen and remove the zip ties around her ankles and ran outside with her other child to search for the baby.
Even though the couple stole her cell phone, the mother immediately called 911 and gave a statement about the suspect and what happened.
