President Joe Biden continues to suffer from neuropathy in his legs and a stiff gait, White House physician Kevin O’Connor reported after the president’s annual physical.
Health problems may explain why he has trouble staying upright. Biden stumbled, stumbled, stumbled at least five times in 2023.
Peripheral neuropathy in the feet:
“Peripheral neuropathy refers to any condition that affects the nerves outside the brain or spinal cord. It can occur for several reasons, from trauma to infection to genetic disorders. Dr. Mark Siegel, a professor of medicine at George Washington University, suggested that some link may exist between his physical health and cognitive ability.
“Some neurologists believe that this doorway (like a foot stuck to the floor) may be consistent with fluid in the brain, or that there may be insufficient blood flow to an area of the brain. ,” he said on Fox News Thursday. “I’m not saying he has it. I haven’t looked into those. But there were no brain imaging or MRIs or even cognitive tests done.”
“The American public has doubts about his cognitive abilities because of his frequent memory lapses,” he added.
A Quinnipiac poll found last week that a whopping 67% of voters think Biden is too old to serve a second term. The poll also asked voters whether they thought he had the physical and mental fortitude to serve another term as president.
- Physical fitness: 35% said yes, 62% said no
- Mental fitness: 34% said yes, 64% said no
Several lawmakers had previously called for Biden to undergo cognitive tests.
