President Biden will use his State of the Union address next Thursday to tout his accomplishments during his first three years in office as he seeks to make his case to the nation as he seeks a second term.
A White House official told The Hill that Biden will use the speech to discuss his accomplishments in his first term and outline his vision for the future.
White House officials said in a preview of his upcoming speech that Biden accomplished more in his first three years in office than many presidents have in two terms.
Biden is expected to highlight the bipartisan Infrastructure Act, which has helped build roads, bridges and railroads across the country, and the bipartisan CHIPS Act, which invested millions of dollars in domestic semiconductor manufacturing.
White House officials said Mr. Biden also plans to work on repealing anti-inflation laws that include provisions to lower junk fees and prescription drug costs.
The official cited the president’s policy focus on cost-cutting efforts, proposed tax hikes on wealthy Americans and corporations, steps to protect reproductive health care and democracy, and the president’s policy focus on He added that he would claim to be on the side of The unity agenda includes ending cancer, protecting minors from big tech companies, supporting veterans, and curbing fentanyl.
“We want to accomplish as much as possible as quickly as possible,” a White House official said. “We’re going to pedal as hard as we can this year, and there’s going to be a lot more to come in the second semester.”
Biden is scheduled to deliver the State of the Union address next Thursday at the Capitol. He is expected to be a key springboard to his re-election bid, as it will provide him with a larger platform that will be viewed by millions of people.
Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) is expected to deliver the Republican rebuttal to Biden’s speech.
