Authorities are not releasing the woman’s name to ensure her safety. The woman was in her 20s when she first disappeared in 2017, but is now in her 30s, according to the report. It is believed that the woman may have been a victim of human trafficking.
The victim reportedly contacted her stepmother on Monday. Her stepmother then contacted her authorities and she informed them that her victim was being held against her will. Michigan State Police immediately went to the Evergreen Motel on Michigan Avenue, according to reports. new york post.
Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw said officers were told that they were “directed to a specific location by a noise that sounded like wailing or screaming.” The woman was eventually found unharmed, but there were drugs and firearms in her room.

The missing woman was eventually reunited with her family. She is currently receiving mental health support and authorities continue to investigate what led the woman to flee her home in 2017.
