Crews are working to recover from a train derailment in Pennsylvania that landed several cars in the Lehigh River.

The fire broke out Saturday morning in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, fire officials and county officials announced on Facebook. Photos show boxcars and tank cars off the tracks.

“At this time, there are no evacuations, no injuries, and no containers leaking,” Northampton County said, asking people to stay away from the scene and allow first responders to do their jobs.

Northampton County Emergency Management Agency, Lehigh County Hazardous Materials Agency and Nancy Run Fire Company are on scene off Riverside Drive.

Northampton County says the train is from south Norfolk. The company’s staff conducts on-site assessments.

Multiple derailments have occurred in southern Norfolk in the past year, and one of the most notable in Ohio was “38 cars of a 151-car train carrying hazardous materials derailed and 12 others caught fire.” ,” CBS News Philadelphia reported.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Norfolk Southern responded to the incident near Bethlehem and said it was “appreciative of the quick and professional response by local emergency agencies.” Crews and contractors are developing a cleanup plan for the derailment site.
