Aaron Rodgers has been a guest on the show for years, and the four-time MVP has garnered a lot of attention.

The four-time MVP has caused a lot of controversy by picking fights with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Travis Kelce, Keith Olbermann and others over the COVID-19 vaccine, but Rodgers has also gotten into trouble with Jimmy Kimmel and Jeffrey Kimmel. The show gained notoriety by going a step further with its satire about Epstein. .

“People were already thinking that ESPN was going to kick him out this year because Aaron started a war with Jimmy Kimmel on our show. People were already thinking that ESPN wasn’t going to work, it wasn’t going to last long,” McAfee said. he said. “All the Smoke” Podcast with former NBA stars Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. “Jimmy Kimmel obviously had a lot going on about ABC, about COVID-19, criticizing Fauci on our show. It got really heated on this block for about three weeks.”

Of course, Mr. McAfee was referring to Mr. Rogers saying that Mr. Kimmel should “hope” that Epstein’s client list was not made public — that Mr. Rogers had hinted that Mr. Kimmel would be on the list. The consensus was that this was the case, but Mr. Rogers denied that was the case.

McAfee said ESPN executives “interfered” with his show and that he was “cancelled from both sides,” but not in his favor. But either way, McAfee defended his friend, saying, “He’s very passionate about what Aaron is talking about. Aaron firmly believes in it.”

But Mr. Rogers’ controversial opinions have not only made him an enemy in the public eye, but also Mr. McAfee. McAfee admitted that because he couldn’t fully understand everything Rodgers was saying, he began to doubt that he was even qualified to be on the show.

I often found myself thinking, “Do I deserve to have this platform when I don’t know all the things that I need to do to make sure this doesn’t happen and that people don’t hate me?” ‘…There were nights when I couldn’t sleep. I was like, ‘Maybe I’m totally screwing it up.’

But McAfee had an epiphany.

“We’re having conversations with people. We can totally disagree with them, but at least we’re learning and knowing where Aaron is. This is the Mount Rushmore quarterback in NFL history. .In real time, you lean into the surroundings.” I feel like that’s also a form of journalism, even though people don’t talk about it that much.

“I think we just have a different style of show. We’re conversationalists. We don’t know where we’re going. There are no scheduled questions. I don’t prepare anyone when the questions come.” “I don’t have a list of questions. I just have conversations with people. And, well, it certainly got us into some confusion. But it gave us It brought some magic as well.”

McAfee said he’s unsure about his future on “College GameDay” because he knows he’s not everyone’s star.
