Former President Trump will pick up more delegates at Saturday’s Michigan Republican caucus after winning a decisive victory in the state’s primary earlier this week.
Republican lawmakers convened Saturday in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for a convention and ultimately decided to give Trump the remaining 39 of the state’s 55 presidential delegates.

Michigan’s Republican Party was forced to split its primary election into two after Democrats, who control the state government, moved Michigan into an early primary state in violation of national Republican Party rules.

Saturday’s convention comes days after a Kent County judge found that former Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman Christina Karamo was properly removed from office by party members in January. The decision officially hands the state party over to former Rep. Pete Hoekstra, who the Republican National Committee approved last month.
Republicans in Idaho and Missouri will hold their caucuses on Saturday night, with Trump expected to win easily.

Trump has won convincingly in each primary to date, and his team has indicated he will secure the Republican nomination by the end of this month. But Haley has vowed to remain in the race until at least March 5, when 16 states hold Super Tuesday primaries with more than 800 delegates at stake.
