Richard Lewis’ wife Joyce Lapinski has spoken of her gratitude for the outpouring of love since her husband’s death.
On Thursday, Lapinski posted on Lewis’ official “Sho,” he wrote.
She continued, “In response to many inquiries, I know that Richard would appreciate memorial donations to the Los Angeles-based charity ComedyGivesBack.com or the charity of your choice. ” he continued.
Comedy Gives Back is a nonprofit organization dedicated to “providing a safety net for the comedy community by providing economic crisis relief, mental health and chemical dependency treatment sponsorship, and ongoing community support.” is.

Jonas Public Relations spokesman Jeff Abraham said Lewis suffered a heart attack Tuesday night and died peacefully at his home in Los Angeles.
“My wife, Joyce Lapinski, would like to thank everyone for your love, friendship and support and requests privacy at this time,” Abraham said in a statement.
Lewis and Lapinski met in 1998 but married in 2005, when he was 57.

“I was really needy,” he told The Washington Post in 2020, explaining why the marriage was delayed. “I was the first to arrive at everything along the way.”

Just before the announcement, he happened to share a sweet tribute to his wife on social media.
“I’ve had some great girlfriends over the past 12 seasons of #curb that LD. [Larry David] It’s a disaster for me, but in real life my wife Joyce has made my dreams come true for 25 years,” he wrote after joking about his fictional girlfriend on the show.

“Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital, and he has been like a brother to me for most of my life,” the “Seinfeld” co-creator said. “He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and the kindest person. But today he made me cry, and I will never forgive him for that.”
