Trump shares designs for the octagonal arena on the White House South Lawn for UFC Freedom 250

UFC Freedom 250 Set for June 14

After almost a year of planning, UFC Freedom 250 is on the horizon. President Donald Trump recently showcased what the event’s octagon will look like on the South Lawn.

During a meeting in the Oval Office on Wednesday, Trump gathered fighters for another major event. Alex Pereira is set to fight Cyril Gane, while Justin Gaethje will face Ilya Topria.

As he discussed the event, Trump pointed to the White House backdrop and shared images of the planned setup, which will feature 4,000 close-up seats around the octagon.

A temporary arch will be constructed to obscure the illuminated fighter jets, adding a unique touch to the venue.

“I’m a big sports fan, and there’s no one tougher than these fighters,” Trump remarked. “I know all of them; they are the best.”

He went on to declare that this “big fight” would be “the greatest show on Earth,” with the potential for over 100,000 spectators to watch via eight large screens near the White House.

Justin Gaethje shared his thoughts on Trump, expressing how it’s a privilege to have a president willing to go against the grain. He noted that Trump’s early support back in the 1990s played a crucial role in elevating the UFC’s popularity, which he felt would have lagged without it.

Announced initially on July 3, the event was confirmed by UFC CEO Dana White shortly after. It’s slated for June 14, coinciding with both President Trump’s 80th birthday and National Flag Day.

This event also celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, complementing other commemorative activities like IndyCar racing this summer.

On the fight card, Michael Chandler will take on Mauricio Luffy, alongside names like Bo Niccal and Sean O’Malley, highlighting a lineup that promises excitement for fans.
