Trader Joe’s chicken soup dumplings recalled for possibly containing permanent marker plastic

More than 61,000 pounds of steamed chicken xiao long bao sold at Trader Joe’s will be recalled for potentially containing hard plastic, U.S. regulators announced Saturday.

The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service said the recalled dumplings, manufactured by California-based CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont, may have been contaminated with foreign material, “particularly hard plastic from permanent marker pens.” He pointed out that there is a gender.

FSIS said the recall comes after consumers reported that Trader Joe’s branded products contained hard plastic.

The recalled 6-ounce Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings were manufactured on December 7, 2023 and have lot codes 03.07.25.C1-1 and 03.07.25.C1-2 on the side box label. Can be identified. .

In an online notice about the recall, Trader Joe’s asked consumers to throw away affected dumplings or return them to a store for a full refund.

A spokesperson for CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont told The Associated Press that the company is investigating the issue, which occurred during its manufacturing process.

“The safety of our customers remains our top priority,” the food manufacturer added in an emailed statement.

Adulteration is one of the top reasons food recalls occur in the United States today.
