A mob of teenagers attacked a gay couple walking together in Queens last week, hurling slurs at them before repeatedly punching one of them, authorities said.
The male victims, both 36, were walking on Broadway near 33rd Street in Astoria around 7:30 p.m. when four young-looking bullies shouted anti-gay slurs and then attacked an unspecified group of bullies. A “hard object” was thrown at the couple, authorities said.
A member of the violent group then punched one of the victims in the face, causing swelling and bruising, police said.
The New York City Police Department began monitoring three of the attackers, all believed to be in their late teens, but have not yet caught them.
