During U2’s final performance this past weekend at Sphere Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Bono took a minute to “celebrate women” in preparation for Women’s History Month, which marks the entire month of March.

U2 wrapped up their Las Vegas residency, which began in September, with a weekend show that drew a star-studded crowd. Before the group performed their hit song “All I Want Is You,” Bono seemed to notice a few people in the crowd that he personally recognized.
“When I wrote this song, I tried to write it from the perspective of a woman, a bride, in this case quite arrogant,” Bono said.
“It was a trick to make sense of the lyrics I was playing to myself. Tonight, I want to dedicate this song to all the great women in our lives,” he continued.
“Our partners, our mothers, our daughters, all the women in the U2 crew, all the great women in the audience that we know and feel we have, and in a very difficult situation that we will never be able to Get to know all the great women around the world who are experiencing… And one woman in particular who is with us tonight is a teacher. This is for Jill Biden, because she’s your first lady. ”
The musicians then sang a rendition of Crowded House’s 1986 song “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” which was dedicated to Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
Bono led the crowd in singing along to the chorus.
The Irish lead singer asked everyone in the audience to record a performance of the song and “send it to someone who loves freedom.”
Madison Square Garden Entertainment cost $2.3 billion to build. This is simply called a sphere. It is said to be the world’s largest spherical structure, measuring 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide.
Social media users online agreed with X and commented on Bono’s shoutout to the first lady.
