In what may seem like a vicious double cut in one day, the Jacksonville Jaguars fired Fololanso “Foley” Fatukasi from the team just hours after wishing him a happy birthday. .
Early Monday morning, the man now aptly named Jags wished Fatukashi “Happy 94th birthday!”

But just about two hours later, the team announced Fox News reported that the defensive tackle was released by the team, saving the Jags $3.5 million on the salary cap for the 2024 season.
The Jags aren’t the first team to turn a happy day into a heartbreaking one. The Cleveland Browns released offensive lineman Michael Dunn just hours after wishing him a happy birthday, and the Green Bay Packers also released linebacker Jonathan Garvin.
Fatukasi was drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 draft by the New York Jets and started 29 games with the Jags, totaling 48 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 29 games.
He’ll probably be picked up by another team soon, but Jags fans wish the team a happy birthday and then release players on their birthdays, making it seem like the team is acting like, well, the Jags. I thought I was doing it.
