Singer Amy Grant didn’t know she had a cyst in her throat at the time of her bicycle accident. According to Newsner, the Cleveland Clinic explained that the thyroglossal duct cyst (TDC) that Amy had was congenital. Although usually benign, it may make eating and drinking difficult.
5 hour surgery
Amy had to undergo a five-hour surgery to remove the cyst because it overgrown as a result of her injury. She also had to learn to sing. I can imagine it was quite a process.
She was also asked during the surgery if she wanted a facelift, but she declined as she was scheduled to perform on stage in a few weeks. But after her surgery, she says her neck felt a little stiff. She seemed very happy about it.
