Paul Pierce derisively compares Knicks to ‘Instagram model’

Paul Pierce thinks the Knicks are smoke and mirrors.

Pierce and Kevin Garnett talked about the team’s playoff chances. Their “Tickets & The Truth” PodcastAnd Pierce predicted the Knicks would be dusted off in the first round, believing that the Heat and even the Pacers would be problematic opponents for them.

Garnett believes a ‘wave’ of institutional support in the NBA could boost the Knicks, and has high praise for Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, who is out with shoulder injury, and Bojan Bogdanovic Was.

But Pearce felt the new work needed another year of “seasoning” and chemistry to integrate.

“Knicks is like an Instagram model,” Pierce said.

“I look at Instagram and I think, ‘Oh my god, she’s fine.’ Then I catch them in person and I’m like… ‘Is this you?’ There’s a lot of filters. It’s too much. ”

Garnet tried to clarify what Pierce meant.

“Those are two different things: real and digital?” Garnett asked his former teammate. “So what am I watching on TV?”

In good news for the Knicks, Brunson’s left knee injury suffered in Sunday’s game against the Cavaliers was not as serious as initially feared.

“He’s getting better, but he’s not quite there yet,” head coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters before the Knicks’ game against the Hawks on Tuesday.

Thibodeau added that an MRI scan of Brunson’s knee showed no abnormalities.

The Knicks enter Tuesday’s game with a record of 36-25 and will be the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference if the playoffs begin now.

However, just two wins separate them from the Heat and Pacers, who are in seventh and eighth place, respectively, and will qualify for the NBA play-in tournament.
