In the run-up to Super Tuesday, there is a lot of upheaval in the political situation, not just in the presidential primaries.
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema shook up her Senate campaign by announcing on Super Tuesday that she would not seek re-election in Arizona.movement from cinemawill switch his party affiliation from Democrat to Independent in 2022, leaving a close race between Republican candidate Kali Lake and Democrat Ruben Gallego.
“Our democracy has been weakened by a dysfunctional government and a constant pull towards extremes by both political parties,” Sinema said in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. He said this in a video presentation. “I promised I would do everything I could to fix it.”
On the Senate Republican side, one of the year’s biggest political endorsements is at stake.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Trump’s campaign are looking to rally potential support and unite Republicans just eight months before the November election, The Associated Press reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The two sides are said to be discussing strategies.
McConnell is currently the highest ranked Republicans in Congress He has not yet endorsed the former president’s bid to return to the White House.
