CIA’s new mission: Wokeness over expertise

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are now the “mission” of the Central Intelligence Agency. After more than a decade of constant politicization, American intelligence agencies have now officially woken up.

The best intelligence professionals are unlikely to be promoted in the new CIA unless all DEI criteria are met.

This is not a sign of virtue. It’s a very real and fundamental transformation of America’s intelligence community.

The Cultural Revolution has been underway for many years. The starting point dates back to 2011, when President Barack Obama announced. Executive Order 13583 Imposing critical race and gender theory across the federal workforce. It had nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with the further politicization of the bureaucracy. CIA Director John Brennan was happy to carry out this order.

In the final months of the Trump administration, CIA Director Gina Haspel said,CIA Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2020-2023” After years of preparation. Haspel said his strategy “weaves diversity and inclusion throughout the talent cycle” (back then, there was no such thing as “equity”), and that he is “building the pool of talent for our leadership positions.” “We are seeking increased diversity and prioritizing inclusivity.” His purpose was not for the CIA to do a better job, but to “build a more inclusive culture.”

Those goals are built into the “DNA” of the new “.”CIA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Strategy 2024-2027” Last fall, CIA Director William J. Burns announced an updated three-year DEI plan with an “A” for accessibility.

“Our DEIA strategy demonstrates our commitment to building a workforce that fully reflects the diversity of our great nation,” Burns said in the foreword. He said nothing about strategies to improve America’s defenses against foreign adversaries. It was not about equal employment opportunity. It was about diversity for diversity’s sake.

The imposition of critical race theory, broader critical gender theory, and critical legal theory took decades to develop from what was called the Frankfurt School, which refined cultural Marxism as a weapon against the West. It cost. What began as the Kremlin’s active measures operation under Stalin has morphed over the generations to become what the CIA calls part of its “core” doctrine.

The infusion of DEI ideology into the CIA, like most political subversions, began with the creation of cells embedded throughout the bureaucracy. These cells look and behave much like the old communist cells of government, and correspond to distressed identity groups based on gender, sexual preferences and fetishes, ethnicity and race.

The CIA officially recognizes these as Agency Resource Groups (ARGs). Cells are organized horizontally and integrated into the overall intelligence community. They pushed the grievance agenda to lower levels. They recruited like-minded people and united with people they called “allies,” so that by President Obama’s 2011 executive order, the CIA was recruiting executives who could be promoted to senior management positions in the name of DEI. Organized.

In its 2024-2027 plan, the CIA’s chief diversity and inclusion officer (yes, there is such a thing) acknowledged that ARG leaders “contributed to this strategy.”

This is not a sign of virtue. It’s a very real and fundamental transformation of America’s intelligence community. Like the 2020-2023 Haspel Plan and Brennan’s plan before it, the CIA’s new diversity strategy is based on what Burns calls “measurables,” or quarterly allocations to advance the revolution. Detailing behavioral modifications.

Both strategies detail a daunting litany of bureaucratic measures to measure compliance with the new ideology.

The CIA’s personnel system requires a number of checks to ensure that all officers, analysts, and employees are evaluated on how they comply with the ever-changing and increasingly demanding requirements of the Cultural Revolution. is.

The public got a glimpse of that in 2021, when the agency began its recruitment drive for Haspel’s “CIA People” for a new generation of woke people.of basics video The 36-year-old CIA employee spent two and a half minutes talking about himself. “I am perfect.” “I am a woman of color.” “I am a cisgender millennial diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder.” “I am intersectional.” “I am It’s a walking manifesto.” The CIA woman mentioned herself at least 45 times, telling viewers, “I’m educated, qualified, and capable,” and bragging about “my talents.” .

This was a profile choreographed by CIA leadership in a social media recruitment campaign that was planned, carefully staged, and recorded.

To accelerate the push for more DEI, regardless of professionalism, the 2024-2027 strategy calls for government agencies to “ “Review and adjust the criteria for incentives for senior intelligence services based on the impact of their activities.”

In other words, if you don’t advance critical race theory, gender theory, and queer theory, no matter how good an agent, analyst, or supervisor you are, you won’t be much more active in the new CIA. You probably can’t.
