A 3-year-old Chihuahua is living a happy life as his owner packs suitcases and takes him around the world.
Bao, who lives in Toronto with his owner The Thi Ngoc Tran, has traveled to Paris, France, Mexico and Alberta in the past two years, staying in five-star hotels along the way.
Tran is a 37-year-old financial worker.
She said she got Bao during the coronavirus pandemic, but it wasn’t until 2022 that the two started traveling together.
“He’s my baby, so I never wanted to travel without him,” she told British news agency SWNS.
The 6-pound dog’s first trip was a four-hour flight to Lake Louise, Alberta.
Since then, the dog and his owner have moved across the pond.
In Paris, the couple stayed at the Hotel Louvre Saint-Honoré and dined at the iconic Café de Flore, while also stopping by the Eiffel Tower.
As reported by SWNS, another characteristic of Bao is that he doesn’t travel light.
Tran said Bao has a wardrobe of 75 items worth $2,500, including items such as Chanel silk scarves, sparkly jackets and turtleneck sweaters.
“Since he was a puppy, I’ve liked matching his clothes to my neutral aesthetic, like trench coats and denim, while Bao loves to wear Hawaiian shirts on holidays,” Tran said. told SWNS.
She also noted the additional cost of bringing a pet on a trip, but said it was “well worth it.”
At home, Bao eats like a king, eating nutritious raw food, including homemade bone broth to promote joint health.
“Getting Bao was the best decision. He’s like the perfect match for me,” Tran told FOX News Digital.
Three years ago, Tran opened Bao’s Instagram account to share his “sassy personality” and trend-setting outfits.
Since then, Bao has amassed more than 166,000 followers and even includes a link to her outfit on her profile.
Tran said Bao loves the camera and the connection between Bao and her thousands of followers.
Looking ahead, Tran told FOX News Digital that she plans to visit Beverly Hills to have a real “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” moment with Bao.
“We want to go back to Europe and visit Italy, and we liked Mexico so much we’ll go again,” she said.
On her Facebook page, Bao “tells” others that she “loves dressing up, traveling, and eating at pet-friendly restaurants.”
