Eight teenagers were reportedly shot to death at a SEPTA bus stop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and police are currently searching for multiple gunmen that witnesses nearby reported seeing.

On Wednesday, at 3pm local time, students from Northeast High School were waiting for a bus in the city’s Burholm neighborhood when gunfire erupted, leaving at least eight teenagers injured.
Philadelphia Police Chief Kevin Bethel reported that three gunmen jumped out of a car near a Dunkin Donuts and began firing, injuring students.
The victims were said to be between 15 and 17 years old.
A local hospital that accepted the victims reported that one of the teens had serious injuries. The other seven victims are currently in stable condition.
Bethel also said at least 30 gunshots were fired during the violent incident.
Police are currently searching for the driver of the dark blue Hyundai Elantra with paper tags that carried the three gunmen, authorities said. The suspects were last seen “driving across the bridge towards the Cheltenham area” while wearing masks.
After hearing the gunshots, an unidentified woman working at a nearby Quaker Diner restaurant ran outside to see what was happening. She immediately assisted the victim until police and paramedics arrived.
“Someone has to do something because children are dying here every day. That doesn’t happen in this area,” the woman told reporters.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Department of Transportation also reported that bullets flying during the shooting struck two buses, “a Route 67 bus and a Route 18 bus.” SEPTA said there have been no reports of injuries to passengers or employees so far.
