Seton Hall likely punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament with a 66-56 win over Villanova on Wednesday night at the Prudential Center.
But what does that mean for St. John’s?
With the win, Seton Hall (19-11, 12-7 Big East) will be as good as the No. 4 seed in next week’s Big East Tournament.
St. John’s (18-12, 10-9) is currently tied for fifth place in the conference with Villanova (17-13, 10-9) and Providence (19-11, 10-9).
With four straight wins, the Red Storm quickly moved into the NCAA Tournament, winning three-way tiebreakers against Villanova and Providence to earn the No. 5 seed in the Big East Tournament.
Even if St. John’s beats Georgetown on Saturday, the only scenario in which it doesn’t finish fifth is if Villanova loses to Creighton and Providence upsets UW.

As for Seton Hall, Cadary Richmond had 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and the Pirates snapped an eight-game losing streak against Villanova.
