Knicks Fans Storm Philadelphia for Game 3 Victory
The Philadelphia 76ers faced a daunting challenge as they couldn’t prevent a large contingent of Knicks fans from invading their territory.
In a decisive Game 3, the Knicks triumphed over the 76ers with a score of 108-94, giving them a commanding 3-0 series lead.
The Knicks’ blue and orange fans not only cheered on their team but also booed the Sixers’ star Joel Embiid as he approached the free-throw line at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
They erupted in cheers whenever he missed a shot, creating a lively atmosphere in the arena.
As the game drew to a close and victory felt assured, fans in the lower section displayed their excitement by waving towels and chanting, “Let’s go Knicks!”
A departing group of fans couldn’t hold back, chanting “FK Embiid” and declaring, “Knicks in 4.”
Much like the star-studded crowd at Madison Square Garden, Philadelphia had its share of celebrities in attendance. Notable Knicks fans such as Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, and Fat Joe were caught on camera smiling as the Knicks began the second half.
Prior to the game, the 76ers had even donated 500 tickets in hopes of rallying their home crowd against the Knicks.
Kelly Oubre Jr., who led the 76ers with 22 points, shared his thoughts on the rowdy crowd filled with traveling Knicks supporters. He mentioned that regardless of who is in attendance, the noise is always significant, and his team must remain focused.
“I could say things that would be clickbait, but I won’t do that,” Oubre said. “At the end of the day, it’s us on the court. We have to stay committed to our task and stick together.”
He added, “It’s loud, no matter who the crowd is cheering for. You have to concentrate on the objective at hand.”
Now, the pressing concern for Philadelphia is the daunting 3-0 series deficit, with just one more loss standing between them and the end of their season.
There’s speculation about whether a certain 76ers fan might attempt to raise Amtrak ticket prices for Knicks supporters ahead of the next game.
