Runaway pig Kevin Bacon lured to Wisconsin pen with Oreos

Talk about collaboration.

Last week, a Wisconsin homeowner helped lure a runaway pig in his neighborhood back to his house with an Oreo trail.

The 450-pound pig farmer, named Kevin Bacon, escaped from the pig pen sometime Friday, hours after his owner left for the weekend, and wandered for a mile down the road.

Perhaps looking for a friend or a snack, Kevin landed on the front door of the Molgado family’s backyard and was caught on surveillance video filming himself.

“My wife spotted an unusual looking figure walking along the garage using our driveway camera,” Jake Molgado said. told the Associated Press Wednesday, adding that the large stranger “ended up coming to our back door.”

“My wife immediately started feeding him,” said Molgado, 40, a local business owner. “That’s what she does with every animal that comes into our backyard.”

Although the family were not farmers themselves, the town of Brighton, about 61 miles south of Milwaukee, had many farms and orchards.

Luckily, the couple’s best friend immediately recognized Kevin and connected the Morgards to his owner. The owner was too far away to come and retrieve the pig himself.

The owner asked the family if they could “lure” Kevin onto their property. That task could easily be accomplished by feeding the pigs Kevin’s favorite foods: cookies, marshmallows, and other treats.

Luckily, the Morgard family had plenty of Oreos for the job. he told TMJ4.

Much to his excitement, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department deputies were asked to help escort Kevin Bacon home. “A typical county phone call.”

The mile-long journey took an astonishing two-and-a-half hours to complete, Molgado said.

However, the senator and the Morgard family didn’t seem to care. Molgado’s 16-year-old daughter, with Kevin’s owner’s permission, jumped on the pig’s furry back during the voyage, and police posed for multiple photos with the pig.

This strange encounter even led to a new friendship. Since then, Molgado and his family have visited Kevin every day, boxes of donuts in hand.

“He’s a huge creature, but his owner described him as a gentle giant,” Molgado said.
