Pete Davidson took a strong jab at his rival Kanye West during Netflix’s “The Roast of Kevin Hart” on Sunday night. He didn’t hold back, targeting comedian Tony Hinchcliffe and referencing Kanye’s anti-Semitic controversies along with the murder of political activist Charlie Kirk.
At 32, Davidson delivered one of the most surprising lines, likening Hinchcliffe to Kirk, who was killed last September.
He quipped, “Tony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, in that he definitely makes the camera shoot guys down their throats,” which prompted an audible gasp from the audience.
Then, he escalated the roast with a sharper jab: “‘Kill Tony.’ Someone please say, ‘Kill Tony,'” referencing Hinchcliffe’s well-known podcast. “Tony, nothing you say tonight will hurt my feelings. I was fighting with Kanye, so I took a picture from the better gay Nazi.”
Davidson’s comments were a clear nod to his ongoing feud with West, which ignited following his relationship with Kim Kardashian after her split from the rapper.
Kanye, 48, had publicly targeted Davidson in 2022, unleashing bizarre social media attacks, including unsubstantiated rumors about the comedian’s health and personal life.
In a particularly strange claim, West alleged that Davidson taunted him by boasting about his dalliance with Kardashian.
The “gay Nazi” remark struck deep, given West’s repeated anti-Semitic rants in recent years, which resulted in significant backlash and the collapse of various business partnerships.
In 2025, West stirred further outrage by declaring admiration for Adolf Hitler, calling himself a Nazi, and promoting products featuring swastikas.
Earlier this year, he publicly acknowledged his past actions in a Wall Street Journal ad, asserting he was “not a Nazi” and attributing his behavior to a long-standing car accident that affected his mental health.
West expressed remorse, stating, “I regret and deeply regret my actions in that situation and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change.”
The roast showcased Davidson’s willingness to reignite one of Hollywood’s most contentious feuds for the sake of a punchline.
