In an interview with CBS on Wednesday, State Department chief spokesman Vedant Patel was asked what the U.S. is doing to ensure the aid it’s dropping in Gaza goes to the right people. In response, he said, “We need to do the following by every means possible.” When it comes to humanitarian aid, there will be pressure. And that’s what we’re trying to do, working closely with our regional partners. ”
Host Anne Marie Green said, “I want to ask you about humanitarian aid, and of course part of the reason this is happening is because the United States and other countries are pulling aid from the United Nations, UNRWA.” That’s what we’re doing.” [agency] provided the bulk of Gaza’s humanitarian aid.
