Abbi Pulling secures a front-row spot in qualifying for F1 Academy in Saudi Arabia

The F1 Academy returned to the track for the 2024 season this week, with qualifying for the first round at the Jeddah Corniche circuit.

It was a great day for F1 Academy alpine support driver Abi Pring. Pull qualified second and was the only driver to finish within one second of Dorian Ping. Ping’s time was good enough to earn him pole position for both races at this weekend’s F1 Academy.

“It was a good day here in Jeddah. It was positive to run second in practice and use that to finish second in qualifying,” Pulling said. SB Nation Following the preliminaries. “We are on the front row in both Race 1 and Race 2, so it gives us a very good opportunity to attack.”

Pule may have been hoping to get pole position, but he knows it’s a long season and is looking ahead to both races this weekend.

“Obviously we’re a little disappointed with this result, but the season is long and this is only the first round,” Pring added. “I’m on the cleaner side of the grid, which will be beneficial for us and it will be important to get off the line. I’m looking forward to tomorrow and ready to race.”

Ferrari-backed Maja Veug will start third, with Nerea Martin fourth. McLaren’s Bianca Bustamante will start fifth, with Laura Lovinfosse sixth.
