California Democratic Rep. Katie Porter said Wednesday that U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) secured victory in November by pushing Republican rival Steve Garvey to second place. He claimed that the Senate elections were rigged.
Porter posted on X (formerly Twitter) that she faced an “onslaught of billionaires who spent millions of dollars to rig this election.”
Thank you to everyone who supported our campaign and voted to change the status quo in Washington. Because of you, we withstood the onslaught of billionaires who scared the establishment, withstood a 3-to-1 ratio in TV spending, and who spent millions of dollars rigging this election. (1/)

Schiff is the best-funded candidate thanks to his role in Donald Trump’s impeachment.
Additionally, as Breitbart News pointed out, Schiff spent his advertising touting Garvey as “too conservative for California,” which helped Democrats rally around Schiff and also encouraged Republican voters to actually get into the race. I was informed that there are candidates.
In one case, Schiff’s campaign created a fake Facebook news page called “Golden State Pulse,” using a Fox News headline about Garvey and calling it “Bright” to get more attention from conservative readers. “Bert.com,” it was incorrectly labeled.
Under California’s “jungle” primary system, all candidates regardless of party compete in the same pool, and the top two primary candidates from all parties advance to the general election in November, regardless of party affiliation.
Schiff knew that if Porter or another Democrat qualified for the general election, they would face a tougher battle in the deep blue state. So he backed Garvey. It’s a deceptive but effective tactic, emblematic of how Schiff advanced his career.
Mr. Porter, once a rising star among “progressive” Democrats, was forced to court more moderate voters and his efforts to finish second behind Schiff failed. (Her mentor, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), famously called the system “rigged.”)
The Democratic Party is rage Porter argued that the party’s entire message over the past four years has been that Trump and his supporters are a threat to democracy due to doubts about the 2020 election, which was “rigged.”
porter I voted Impeach Trump for the second time for allegedly inciting the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, alleging the election was rigged against him.
Mr. Porter will give up his Orange County seat and leave Congress.
