Paul says people ask if he’ll run for Senate GOP leadership

Last month, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) announced that his term as Senate Republican leader would be his last. Republican Sens. John Cornyn (Texas) and John Thune (South Dakota) are doing their best to succeed McConnell, but another U.S. senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul, is in line to succeed McConnell. A position some hope will be in the Senate Republican leadership.

“Thousands of people have asked me if I would run for Senate leadership…” Paul tweeted.

“Please!!!!” Harmeet Dhillon answeredexpressed support for that outlook.

“Yes…please!!! We need your leadership in the Senate.” Juanita Broaddrick tweeted.

“You can help me.” tweeted Former congressman Justin Amash is running for a U.S. Senate seat in Michigan.

“I would love to see it,” David Limbaugh wrote. reply to the pole.

The senator posted a poll on X asking whether people would prefer him, Cornyn or Thune to be the “next Senate majority leader.” So far, Paul has received 96 votes out of more than 135,000 votes. % or more.

“100,000 votes, 97% against the status quo, if you could vote for party leadership online… It doesn’t matter, but at least the establishment knows that their popularity is waning outside of Washington, D.C.!” Paul tweeted.

Like both McConnell, Cornyn, and Thune. I voted Last month, it endorsed measures that include, in part, more U.S. support for Ukraine. Paul voted against it.
