Aaron Rodgers is thinking about how long he wants to play in the NFL.
And it involves multiple seasons.
The Jets signal-caller spoke about his efforts to get back on the field on a recent episode of the podcast Look Into It with Eddie Bravo, revealing that he hopes to play four more years in the league.
“I returned to the practice range late in the season and couldn’t reach my top speed sprints,” he said on the show. “But rehab-wise, I’ve been in really good shape since the beginning and felt really good. Again, I hope I can play two, three, four more years. But there’s also some luck involved. .”
Rodgers’ first season with the Jets suffered an early setback when he went down with a torn Achilles tendon just the fourth play of the Week 1 Monday Night Football game against the Bills.
The 40-year-old hinted at a possible return after surgery and actually returned to the practice field after the Jets had a 21-day practice period in late November, saying “anything is possible.”
However, on December 20th, his dreams of a comeback were dashed as the Jets were eliminated from playoff contention.
But the day before, Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he wants to play beyond 2024, expressing his desire to play for the Jets for at least two more years.
“I don’t think next year will be my last year,” Rodgers said on the show. “Coming here, I felt like my passion and love for the game was renewed. I felt like playing. [with the Jets] It’s been at least two years, and now that he’s only played a few snaps, it feels like this year has been a lost year in some ways. I didn’t get to go out there and prove myself and see what we can do as a team. …
“I feel like I can play for many more years and still be active in my 40s. This is crazy because I thought I would be sitting on the couch when I turned 40. But now I want to be a starter even in my 40s. . To be able to be a starter at 41 years old. I want to see what I can get out of this body.”

This week Rogers hit the podcast circuit. Previously participated in the “Keep Hammering Collective” show.
He pinpointed what he thought the Jets needed this offseason, including “strengthening” the offensive line and adding reinforcements at the wide receiver position, in an interview on “Thursday Night Football” in late December. Both areas he listed.
