3 NFL Free Agency targets for the Giants

Giants players to watch

Jonah Jackson, G

2023 starting guards Ben Bredeson and Justin Pugh are free agents, and the Giants are desperate to get a top-level player here. Jackson, 27, is a product of Rutgers University and Ohio State University, and made the Pro Bowl in 2021. He’s coming off an injury-delayed season and has a so-so grade (61.0 points) from Pro Football Focus, but represents an upgrade. He won’t come cheap. The Rams re-signed Kevin Dotson to a three-year, $48 million deal, and that’s the financial neighborhood Jackson will eventually reside in.

Bryce Huff, Edge

Is this an ascending pass rusher who could be signed for less than established players? Huff, 25, had 10 sacks last season for the Jets despite not starting and playing just 42 percent of the snaps on defense. He was third in the NFL in pass rush win percentage. The undrafted out of Memphis could complement Kayvon Thibodeau nicely, along with Azeez Ojulari, who is injury-prone in the final year of his contract.

Zack Moss, RB

In case you haven’t been paying attention, Saquon Barkley is not tagged and is headed to free agency. That means the Giants need to strengthen their offensive backfield. General manager Joe Schon mentioned Moss (and Devin Singletary) as available running backs last week, without being asked. Both were with the Bills when Shane and coach Brian Daboll were in Buffalo. Moss had a career-high 794 rushing yards with the Colts last season. Singletary gained 898 yards for the Texans. Both of them he is 26 years old and suitable to share work. Neither should be too expensive.
