A Virginia truck driver was arrested on suspicion of firing at another truck driver on Interstate 75 near Ocala, Florida, last week, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Police were called to Love’s Travel Stop on March 3rd for a report of shots fired during a road rage incident. The victim said he was driving a semi-truck southbound on Interstate 75 when Dylan Belairstein, 43, threw a water bottle at the truck. .
“The victim pulled over to confront Belairstein, but he did not respond and drove off,” MCSO said on Facebook. “Bereastin continued to pursue the victim and eventually re-positioned himself next to the victim, at which time he fired several shots at the victim.”
Deputies said the victim “fearing for his life” slowed to avoid being hit before firing at Belairstein.

Investigators said Belairstein also drove to the Love’s Travel Stop, but a short time later drove off southbound on Interstate 75.
After obtaining information that was used to identify Belairstyn, investigators received dashcam footage from the cab of Belairstyn’s semi-truck.

“The footage clearly showed him firing two shots at the victim,” MCSO said. Belairstein is also suspected of retrieving a second handgun that he pointed at the victim without firing it.
Belairstin was found in Ocala on March 6th through a joint effort of MCSO troopers and U.S. Marshals Service personnel. He was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he remains held without bail on charges of firing a missile into a vehicle, aggravated assault, criminal mischief, and displaying a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Belairstein is scheduled to appear in court on April 9, according to online jail records.
