New York State Attorney General Letitia James was booed by firefighters at her promotion ceremony last week. This time, a senior FDNY official threatened to “hunt down” the gunman who taunted James while cheering on former President Donald Trump, according to leaked emails.
James was invited to speak at the New York City Fire Department’s promotion ceremony on Thursday, honoring the Rev. Pamela Holmes, the second female chaplain in the FDNY and the first Black woman to hold the title. The event was held at the Christian Cultural Center’s Brooklyn campus.
As James made his way to the podium, he was greeted with loud boos from FDNY members in the audience.
James told the firefighters, “Oh, come on, this is God’s house.”
James’ jeers continued.
Using hand movements, James instructed firefighters to “simmer down.”
The boos continued as the NY AG spoke.
Some in the audience began chanting “Trump! Trump! Trump!”
The heated derision of James stems from his targeting of Trump in a civil fraud case in which a New York judge ordered the former president to pay $355 million.
But leaked emails show FDNY executives are now threatening to hunt down firefighters who mocked James.
