A Florida mother who was reported missing last week was found locked inside a shipping container Thursday, police said.

Marlene Lopez, 52, was last seen Monday at her home on Lucerne Drive, according to a Cocoa Police Department press release. After Ms. Lopez failed to pick up her son, her co-workers feared for her safety and called the police.

During the investigation, detectives received a tip that a woman was found locked in a shipping container next to a business at 2005 N. Cocoa Blvd.

Lopez was banging on the shipping container door when someone heard her and unlocked the door.

Lopez said he doesn’t know how he got into the container. The situation remains under investigation.
