‘You’re Lucky I Don’t Beat Your A**!’ Pistons GM Gets Into Heated Confrontation with Fan

The Pistons have been terrible, but they’re lucky to have someone come to the game. But that doesn’t seem to mean they’re above yelling at them or kicking them out of the stadium.

On Saturday night, en route to the Pistons’ 142-124 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, Detroit general manager Troy Weaver got into a shouting match with a fan in the stands at Little Caesars Arena.

“I don’t cheat. You’re lucky I didn’t fall for your a**!” Weaver can be heard screaming in the video.

To this, a fan replied, “Work sucks!”

Weaver then drew the attention of security and pointed at the fans, gesturing for security to remove him from the game. Fans looked around in bewilderment, apparently unaware that fans could be removed at the request of NBA players, coaches and executives.

This fan also points out that Weaver threatened him to no avail.

Pistons season ticket holder Jeffrey Callaway, 46, witnessed the collision and told The Associated Press how it escalated.

“The guy involved in the incident came in wearing a Red Wings uniform and was pointing at the scoreboard early in the game,” Callaway said. “Troy Weaver just shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘Okay,’ and the guy went back to his seat.

“When (Jalen) Duren got ejected (in the middle of the fourth quarter), the guy came back and told him he was doing a bad job. That’s when Troy Weaver told the fans he had to get ejected. At that moment, an usher or a security guard came.

This season, the Pistons lost 28 straight games, a single-season record. Weaver has a record of 70-229 over three years as the Pistons’ general manager.
